This really is the best, most cost-effective way to stay informed and get involved with council issues that matter to you.

Rates invoices go bi-annual

As mentioned in our last email, to save on costs to our rate payers and improve efficiencies, we're changing from 4 to 2 rates instalments for the 2024/25 year. That means you'll receive your first instalment in October and your second instalment in April 2025. 

There are many ways to pay your rates and you don't need to wait until the instalment date to make a payment. Watch the video from Mayor Toby as he covers the benefits of setting up a direct debit, to spread the payments out over the whole year and avoid any late payment penalties.

Sign up to receiving your rates notices by email

We're also encouraging everyone who can, to sign up to receiving their rates and water invoices by email. The difference between what it costs to send an invoice and correspondence in the post vs by email is staggering! Postage alone is $2.30 and that doesn't include printing - we can send an email for a fraction of that cost - approximately 7 cents.

We have around 11 500 rate payers including businesses, so when you do the maths, it's not hard to see why emailing invoices is a huge cost saver for our rate payers. Convinced? Sign up now! We'd appreciate it.
