A word from the Libraries' Team Leader ... As Easter has now hopped by, we hope it was ‘egg-stra’ special and that you found time to ‘crack open’ a good book along the way? If not, please hop in to your nearest library for your next reading treat! April also brings Anzac Day, a time to reflect on and honour those who contributed to the pursuit of peace during past world wars. While our libraries will be closed over the public holidays (including Anzac Saturday and Monday), we invite you to visit, explore our displays, and discover your next great read. Paeroa and Waihī libraries hosted some wonderful authors last month who kept our tamariki entertained with their antics. For the adults, the Ockham award nominees are being showcased in the libraries – come and have a browse through some of the titles. Our Autumn School Holiday Programme is in full swing! Here’s hoping you have booked your sessions before they fill up, or just come in and join one of them that doesn’t require signing up. Our monthly Senior Film sessions are very popular, so bring a friend and enjoy a free movie. We encourage our customers to review books – so please send in your recommendations and they may even get published here!
