DORA (Te Waka Matihiko Hauora) stands for Digital-On-Road-Access! DORA is a fully self-contained digital classroom, created by converting a 7.5 metre school bus into a learning centre, suitable for up to 10 people. With solar power and multiple internet connections, DORA can deliver digital classes anywhere in New Zealand. Classes may be delivered by a local trainer or facilitated by a DORA host with a remote online presenter (by Zoom). DORA is accessible for most users but is not wheelchair accessible. There is an access ramp and handrails for participants who have difficulty with steps. DORA is visiting the Waikato in June/July 2024 to help people obtain access to online health services. The Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa (DIAA) is supporting this visit in partnership with Pinnacle Midlands Health Network, Manage My Health, Indici and local community groups, including public libraries. Don't by shy, our friendly library staff will be on hand to help with any of your digital enquiries too! See you in Paeroa today, Ngātea tomorrow or Waihī on Wednesday, 10am - 4pm! |
