Stakeholder group reps

Mayor Jock Martin has been elected as Chair of the newly established Southern Waters’ Stakeholders’ Representative Group, with Cr Roger Cotton as Council’s representative. Recycling option

We have introduced a recycling option at the five transfer stations temporarily closed earlier this year. Council approved a proposal to open the closed sites 24/7 with unmanned, yellow-lidded recycling bins for household recyclables, using a 3-strike enforcement approach, starting 1 June 2026. Dog rego due in June

If you and pooch have moved house, let us know the new address. If you’ve got a new dog, you’ll need to register it - and puppies before they’re 3 months old. Make sure all your info is up to date before our animal team sends out your rego invoice at the end of June. You can register online on the Council website under Dog Registrations.

     New technology

For the first time, we’re using non-intrusive technology to clean the network’s water pipes, which is being tried out in Milton and Lawerence, and possibly elsewhere in the district. It means no need for water shutdowns and disruptions to water supplies. Read more.

Community consultations

Lovell’s Flat Hall future

Lovell’s Flat Hall will be the subject of a local consultation to gain the affected community’s feedback on whether the hall should be demolished, and the future use of the reserve it stands on. Timeframe to be confirmed. For the report presented at the 1 April meeting, go to our website.

Speed Reviews

Based on the results of targeted speed reviews conducted on 20 locations,16 of them are eligible for the requested speed limit changes. Speed limit reviews for beaches are underway.
