Resolution revoked which denied 100% Rates Remission for Māori Freehold Land Council voted to revoke a resolution made on 9 May 2024 which denied a 100% Rates Remission for the property at Chaslands Highway that is classed as Māori Freehold Land. It was agreed that undue consideration and weight was given to the fact that the land had a dwelling, which is not a reason to reject the rates remission application under the Council’s Policy on the Remission and Postponement of Rates on Māori Freehold Land or Schedule 11 of the Local Government Act 2002.
