It was good to hear from the Prime Minister today that most of New Zealand including Marlborough is shifting to Alert Level 3 from midnight on Tuesday. Our retail businesses will be able to open with click and collect, although most public facilities including our libraries will remain closed. For information on Alert Level 3 and what it means for you, please go to https://covid19.govt.nz/alert-levels-and-updates/ We have had bad weather again today - the rain is expected to be quite heavy in the Sounds and Rai Valley. Our staff are watching this carefully. Marlborough Roads are at the ready and I’m hoping we don’t see further damage to the roading network. It seems Mother Nature is giving us a hard lesson in resilience right now. Have a good weekend,
John Leggett Mayor of Marlborough |
