Councillors agreed the Annual Plan 2023-24 Budget proposal yesterday, which maintains current levels of service and capital expenditure focused on Marlborough’s infrastructure needs. Unfortunately we’re facing high levels of inflation and are proposing a rates increase of 7.8% this year. We’ve made savings, increased user fees and used our reserves to reduce what would have been a much higher rates increase. The proposal will go out to public consultation on 6 April.
