Of the 62 building consents issued this month 0 went over the statutory 20 days. The trend is again showing an excellent level of compliance.
For the month of April we received 82 building consent applications and 25 replies to further information requests.
There were 90 consents processed for the month with 47% requiring RFIs (which totalled 296 questions).
There are now 43 consent applications which require re-assessment. The quality of applications is an area where further investigation is required. The move to on-line digital consenting, which will involve rigorous pre-vetting checks of applications, is indicating that the number of applications requiring RFIs, and the amount of questions from these RFIs, is reducing.
> There were 185 inspections carried out with only 57.3% passing. This will now require a further 79 recheck inspections which will also need to be allowed for within inspection timeframes.
> The dollar value for projects in April 2017 was significantly higher than the corresponding month in 2016 (+$3,920,033.00) which equates to an increase of 209%.
> The revenue received in April 2017 increased by $22,282.89 for the corresponding month in 2016 which equates to an increase of 40%.
> There were 12 new residential dwellings approved in April 2017 that had a combined estimated value of $3,743,688.00.
> As we head into the cooler weather the number of wood burner applications has started to increase with 19 being approved for the month.
There are a significant number of projects awaiting payment and for responses to further information requests which will require a concerted effort by staff to finalise.
Compliance with statutory 20 day requirements for building consent applications again reached 100% for the month. This is an excellent effort considering the amount of consents coming through and a significant number of re-assessments for applications which required further information.
26 CCC applications for the month were assessed and issued and there were no projects outside the 20 day statutory timeframe requirements, with only one historic application exceeding 20 days in the year so far.
